Shhh! The Bus is Moving
There is a certain type of etiquette to follow in most populated places. There is a certain way to act at work, a friend’s house, places of worship, and on public transportation. In South Korea, when it comes to using the public transportation system, there are rules that need to be followed.
Silence is mandatory on public transportation. You are basically supposed to act invisible. In most parts of the world, people don’t mind chatter or even performances on public transportation. But in South Korea, keep your conversation to a whisper, don’t stare at anybody, no performances allowed, and no matter what, do not make a phone call.
