Eating and Drinking are Not the Same
Although it is normal in South Korea to see the locals walk around the streets with open beers and other alcoholic beverages, there is absolutely no eating in the streets. We’re used to seeing this in urban areas in America, in a country where fast food is prevalent and eating on the go is seen as productive.
There is much less fast food in South Korea and this may be one of the reasons that outdoor food stalls are illegal. Every place that served food includes space to sit and dine. Like everything else on our list that is new to us, this is just part of their culture.
