More Hand-y Rules
We already discussed how when handing a gift to someone, you have to use your right hand. The same goes for receiving food or a drink. Who would think that a country would have so many rules regarding your hands? Remember, it is also very disrespectful to forget the two-handed handshake.
If you ever receive a gift in South Korea, you must accept it with both hands. What’s even stranger? You are never supposed to open a gift in front of the person who gave it to you. People usually love to see the receiver’s reaction. This takes all the fun out of Christmas. We wonder what the meaning behind rules like these really are.
