You Can’t Escape The Fine Print
A few times a year, you see your friends copy and paste faux legalese on Facebook, declaring their photos and information off-limits to Facebook because they have not given their consent. Sometimes they do it in all caps to really get the point across. These are the people who forgot they gave Facebook permission to use their information when they signed up to use the site.
You might not want pictures of your kids or those sweaty gym selfies you’ve considered selling on another site floating around the Facebook offices, but we have to remember social media isn’t a human right. It’s a service offered to you in exchange for the access privileges you granted when you didn’t read the novel-length terms of service and clicked “agree.” No post, not even in caps, will void the TOS.
