Tricking Us Out of Our Teeth
Fantasy characters like Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, and the Easter Bunny come in different varieties depending on your culture and who introduced you to them. At my mom’s house, the tooth fairy left money under your pillow as you slept. At my dad’s, the tooth fairy left coins in a glass of water.
I’ve never heard of this tooth fairy who harvests the teeth still snuggly set in your gums while you’re awake, although I suppose we shouldn’t expect a magical being who collects the teeth of children to act human enough to be patient. Think we can upcharge for the gruesome inconvenience?
