A Different Kind of Labor
I really wish this story wasn’t true, it’s very hard to accept that not only does this kind of manager exist, but also that this is how women are often treated in their workplaces. Imagine forming a whole new life inside of you – and all the hardships that come with that – just to have your boss saying you ”dropped the ball” while you’re giving birth.
In the U.S alone, 6,369,000 women get pregnant per year. Most of these women are workers, business owners, self-employed, and participate in the workforce actively. Pursuing a career, or investing in your job, doesn’t need to come in the way of building a family. So why do most people assume that the other way around is ok? Being a mom doesn’t exempt you from being a girl boss 🙂
