Unaccepted Doctor’s Note
Most workplaces will require you to have a doctor’s note if you miss more than two or three days of work. There’s nothing outrageous about that. It’s understandable so they can ensure they’re paying you to stay home sick and that you’re not just playing hooky.
However, in Lucy’s predicament of getting a doctor’s note when she was diagnosed with bronchitis, her employer was far from responding compassionately. Instead, her employer threatened to fire her if she didn’t make it into work despite being sick. Some people should not be put in high ranks.
