No Running Water
We take running water for granted, and it’s hard to imagine what it would be like to go a whole day with no running water. This also means you can’t go to the bathroom, because you can’t flush, and you can’t wash your hands afterward. Essentially, an office of 400 people (and even a smaller office, for that matter) can’t function for half a day without running water.
It’s too bad this employer doesn’t see it that way. They didn’t want to close for the day and pay their employees for a day off, so they asked them to stay, hoping people would leave on their own and they won’t be required to pay them.
