The Irony of Santa
Sometimes, time and age help us see things from a different perspective. Take this person, for example; back when he was a kid, a nun at his school shattered his illusion that Santa was real. She wanted the kids to focus on “the lord” rather than a fictional character of a jolly fat man bearing gifts. She wanted them to focus on something that was real – according to her belief.
Now, I’m not saying the lord is or isn’t real, but this person makes a really good point. Only when he grew up did he realize that God is a story people tell themselves, a story people want to believe, just like Santa. I feel like this nun achieved the opposite result she was hoping for that day.
