#11: It’s a Win-Win
I was shocked to find out that many places don’t have air conditioning in every room. It’s a staple here in the US, with only the oldest houses not having at least one type of system within the walls. We have central heating and air in most homes, with window units in others. Granted, it’s scorching in portions of the south in the summer, so they’re necessary.
As for national parks, we rank 8th, behind Australia, China, Thailand, India, Israel, Brazil, and Mexico, but if you add state parks, I can see where the misconception comes in. Australia has a whopping 600 national parks compared to our 59, but we have 6,600 state parks, leveling the playing field by a decent amount. Also, our national parks are magnificent.
