There is crime everywhere, but for the most part, women don’t need an escort in America. Still, we plan for things to go wrong and have training on dealing with attackers. During the day, though, I generally feel safe going pretty much anywhere, and I always have a good friend on speed dial to speak with if I’m unsure.

Truly, in comparison to some countries, women are a lot safer walking our streets. We still feel more secure at night in numbers. That doesn’t mean we need a male with us, just that having more than one woman on an evening adventure is a better safe than sorry consideration.
