#41: First Impressions Matter
This came up once already, and it again makes me wonder where this person traveled. New Yorkers aren’t the friendliest, especially to tourists, and neither are many small towns. The movie depictions of those are accurate to an extent. Still, other areas of the country are truly friendly and fun.

Maybe they went to California on vacation or found themselves in a hot spot for southern hospitality. Where I live, a smile goes a long way toward instant camaraderie, and people help each other out just to be nice. Still, I’ve found the people in Myanmar far exceed the average American in politeness and affability.
