Not protective plastic
The most unfortunate thing happened to this lady. She received her brand new computer screen, and peeled off what she thought was a protective plastic sheet. As it turned out, it wasn’t a protective sheet, but the polarizing film of the screen. That’s the part of the screen that enables displaying of images on LCD screens.
It’s an optical filter that enables the screen to show images. We didn’t realize it was that easy to peel it off, and really, this woman couldn’t have known either. We’re not pointing any fingers here, but maybe these screens should come with a warning label that says “don’t peel off – this isn’t protective plastic, but a delicate, core part of the screen.”
