Museum Blues
Strolling through a museum of fine art sounds like a fun, wholesome activity for the family, but it can also be a strange experience, as this picture depicts. There’s a whole psychological theory surrounding a prolonged exposure to high art. One reaction is that of despair, and the other is pleasure.
The man sitting in the front with his back arched is exhibiting despair, while the kid, well, we’re not sure about pleasure, but he seems to be completely and utterly overwhelmed. High art can be a lot to take in for a kid, and spending a couple of hours at the museum would definitely make any kid feel overwhelmed.
