Where’s the door?
The dogs learn to associate the door with our entrance and exit, which they follow. They may be taught how to open and close it or wait until it is opened over time. It becomes a habit for them after some time, and it’s etched in their memory where the door is and how to access it.
It will take some time for this dog to realize that the door has been relocated and need to learn the entire door routine all over again. But until then, our well-behaved doggie will have to wait till his owner calls him or comes and picks him up. Will he have to repeat the whole learning process? What a wonderful patient companion and testament of memory!
