You Don’t Have A Comfort Chicken?
Think back to bedtime when you were a kid. After you fought your parents for one more story and that glass of water, you grabbed a cuddle buddy. It was either the family dog or your beloved cat. In this family, it’s the comfort chicken helping this girl get off to slumberland.
While some experts wag a heavy finger against keeping chickens as indoor pets because they can become a contamination risk, others have found a way to make it work. Chickens are actually deeply emotionally intelligent animals that even qualify to be registered as emotional support animals; however, we don’t see them overtaking our familiar feline friends and dogs as the norm for indoor pets.
