#5: Out of Line
This image seems like a prime example of someone trying really hard to be clever and add interest to a design…and, instead, just creating a spot that everyone will stop and stare at in frustration forever. Alternating designs can be fun, even in small spaces like the meeting between two kinds of paving, but they must be done right.
What was the point of this insert, anyway? We can see what they were going for; that pattern would be cool… if it were a pattern. And not a single instance. That doesn’t even line up with the white tiles correctly.
