#26: The Scamming Coworker
If you’ve ever had the unfortunate experience of working with a scam artist, we’d like to send our apologies your way. This person got a message from a coworker out of the blue asking for money, which was totally weird because they hadn’t spoken in months. First, they asked for $10 because they were “shorted” on their check. Sure.
They both work at the same place, and someone getting an inaccurate paycheck is not the OP’s problem. To make matters worse, this scamming coworker tried again less than a month later. They randomly asked for $20 to pay their mom’s phone bill. Why is an acquaintance’s mom’s phone bill the OP’s problem? Oh, right. It isn’t. Nice try, scammer, nice try.
