Don’t Do It
This baby announcement is kind of sad and totally inaccurate and misguided. I’m assuming this is their first baby, otherwise, they wouldn’t think this. As you can see, she’s selling her bikini and he’s selling his PlayStation. No need, guys! As a parent I have to say this is a terrible misconception – people, you don’t have to sell anything! You can continue wearing your bikini until something like halfway through your pregnancy – your baby bump will be over it. And even if you can’t, you’ll return to wearing it really soon after the baby is born. Time flies and you’ll be back into your bikini in no time.
And regarding your PlayStation – in the first months after the baby is born, you’ll have lots of sleepless nights in which you’ll need your PlayStation. You will both find yourselves up in the middle of the night, taking turns getting the baby back to sleep – a PlayStation will be very helpful during that time. Afterward, the baby will grow a little and will sleep at night – and you’ll be able to play PlayStation after it goes to bed. Sure, you’ll be busier and more tired than now, but you’ll still be able to play from time to time. And as I said, time goes by fast, and before you know it, the baby won’t be a baby anymore. It will be a kid and will join in on the PlayStation fun. So don’t sell anything – you’re not subtracting anything from your life, you’re just adding something to it.
