#31: All the Planes in All the Land
According to this Reddit poster, more planes were destroyed in World War II “than there are planes on Earth today.” What? Something doesn’t add up. Of course, we know that plenty of weaponry, artillery, and transportation vehicles were decimated amid the second World War. Especially since the United States wasn’t involved from the outset.

This certainly boggles our collective mind. One would think the opposite would be true – that fewer planes were obliterated in World War II versus what exists today. After all, we live in the Golden Age of Air Travel, right? Or did we make that up? You’d think with the drastic advancements in technology that we’d be producing exponentially more planes today.
