Daylight Savings Time actually originated during World War I. The idea was to decrease the use of artificial light to save fuel, hence the turning of clocks ahead by one hour. It started with the German Empire, and soon other countries followed. However, Arizona’s climate is so hot that, should the clocks spring forward, it would stay brightly lit outside until nighttime.
