Why To Never Throw Those Silica Gel Packets You Get With Everything

January 3, 2016 by jessica Creger

Keep Dry Foods Dry

Silica gel has numerous uses and one such use is to keep the dried foods dry. It is used to keep dried foods like herbs, crackers, bread crumbs, and other foodstuffs that are to be kept crispy. You can tape the packet to the lid to prevent the dried food from getting soggy.

It is actually okay if you don’t want to put the gel packet right into the container with the food. Sticking it to the lid of the container can help to retain moisture, where it will work wonders without actually keeping it with the foodstuff.
