Making the Poor Choice to Keep Garlic in the Cold Storage of the Refrigerator
Because garlic is so easily spoiled, you’ve probably noticed that the supermarket doesn’t store its fresh garlic in the refrigerator. This is due to the fact that garlic cannot be refrigerated. After being chilled, garlic goes bad much more rapidly than before. Mold can grow on light bulbs if they are allowed to come into contact with water.
If you store garlic in the refrigerator, its shelf life will be extended, but not by much. Keeping it in a location that is cool, dark, and has plenty of ventilation will help prevent mold from growing on it. When stored at room temperature, onions have a shelf life of anywhere from three to five months before going bad. There is just enough time to get some supper on the table before it gets too late.
