Mangos Thrive Best at Temperatures That are Slightly Higher Than the Norm.
Mangoes and bananas are two fruits that can be found in abundant supply in tropical regions. The higher temperatures are ideal for the growth of all tropical fruits. It is not recommended by registered nutritionist Lisa Samuels to store mangoes in the refrigerator if they have already begun to ripen prematurely. Because if you don’t, you’ll inevitably end up with mangoes that have gone bad.
The National Mango Board suggests allowing mangoes to ripen at room temperature for the best flavor. When it is completely ripe, it can be stored for up to five days, but if you put it in the refrigerator for a few days beforehand, you can extend its shelf life significantly.
