The Whole Pineapple should not be Refrigerated, Despite Common Practice.
It is not recommended to keep whole pineapples in the refrigerator because the low temperatures can cause the rind to disintegrate and cause overhydration, which can alter the flavor and texture of the food. Instead, a whole pineapple should be stored on top of or near the door of the refrigerator.
After being sliced, pineapple should be stored in the refrigerator for the same amount of time as the whole pineapple, which is anywhere from three to five days, depending on the temperature.
