Relatable Tweets That Reveal the Oddities of the Human Mind

January 18, 2010 by Molly Reynolds

Twitter is definitely the “weird cousin” of social media platforms. The “redheaded stepchild,” if you will. Most folks think of social media, particularly Twitter, as a place to divest themselves of peculiar thoughts. Like airing dirty laundry, but more like a string of random musings in 280 characters. A place to share every thought, celever and random alike. Below, you’ll find tweets aplenty that reveal the oddities of the human mind, that are oddly relatable.

That One Fork

You know the one. That one fork (or spoon, for some people) that you actively avoid using for some inexplicable reason. We don’t know why. This Twitter user believes that by 35 years old you should have said fork in your cutlery drawer that you “actively frown at if you accidentally grab it.” It’s a rite of passage.

We humans are creatures of habit. We flock to items and patterns that make us feel comfortable. That fork doesn’t fit the bill. That reprehensible fork. Why does it exist? Does it live in our cutlery drawer just to mock us? To gaze upon us with scorn and hate? We may never know the answer to this most pressing question.
