The Curse of Cursive
When you were a kid, chances are you learned how to write in cursive in elementary school. Well, at least if you grew up in the ‘90s or earlier. Nowadays, kids don’t learn cursive anymore. It’s a dying calligraphy artform. Since practically everything is digital/virtual, there’s really no need to learn cursive.
This Twitter poster points out that we “literally learned cursive for nothing.” But did we? We can pat ourselves on the back for knowing something that future generations won’t. Think about our grandparents and great-grandparents. Their handwriting was so beautiful. Give yourself a hearty congratulations for knowing how to write like they did.
