Mom’s in a Bad Mood
We all remember it too well – trying to ask your mother for something as a child only to find her in a sour mood. It’s generally frowned upon to persuade mom to grant permission if she’s got a “fire and brimstone” demeanor. Of course, bad moods are transient, so chances are if you waited out the storm she’d be more amenable to your requests later on.
Let’s be real: mom was large and in charge. She ruled the roost, not dad. Mom dictated what you did and when. So, if you were attempting to ask for something of your own accord, it took some smooth-talking and conscientious planning. If mom was on the war path, then it was best to let her be. You can probably ask to stay over with your friend Beth later.
