Back to the Morty
It’s immensely easy to compare Rick and Morty to Back to the Future. Both boast an older man that goes on sci-fi adventures with someone their junior. While Doc and Marty have the DeLorean, Rick and Morty have the former’s spaceship. However, there’s one significant difference between the two properties.

Rick and Morty never actually travel through time, unlike the Back to the Future duo. Our eponymous pair in Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon’s animated comedy travel to different dimensions and planets, but never to different periods in time. Hence why there’s a box labeled “Time Travel Stuff” in the Smiths’ garage.
