Damaging Continuity
Rick and Morty is known for not operating linearly when it comes to its narrative. However, in order to implement some kind of continuity and connection between plots, the damage that’s done to the Smith house remains consistent throughout. This helps the viewer connect the house to whatever current reality is unfurling. It’s a subtle continuity method, but an effective one. But what if the damage done to one Smith house in one timeline is reflective of every other Smith home in the remaining timelines? We’re confusing ourselves here, we know.
