Ridiculous Things Mom and Dad Made Us Believe 

Of course, elders should be respected, especially by people much younger than them. But hopefully, most geriatrics understand that being older does not give you a license to all of a sudden be rude to people. To this girl, visiting her grandmother was always a drag. She definitely used her age as an excuse to be nasty. 

As the girl got older and had more control over her life, she started visiting her grandmother less and less, realizing that even though you absolutely should respect your elders, you also have the option of avoiding them if they act extremely rude when you’re around them. Hopefully, her absence taught Grandma a lesson.
