Well, this girl’s parents unfortunately thought that the exact opposite was true and therefore did not encourage her to succeed and use her potential to her full advantage. 

After she finished her master’s degree, which her parents already thought was a waste of time, she wanted to aim for her PhD. Her parents told her that men don’t like women smarter than them and she’ll stay single forever if she enrolls in a PhD program. Funny enough, that’s how she met her husband.
