22. Why My Brother and Me Didn’t Make It
While Nickelodeon was known for its original animated NickToons, the network also served up memorable 90s sitcoms and dramas like it was nobody’s business. My Brother and Me was centered on Alfie and Dee Dee Parker, but many remember best friend Goo as the best thing about the show, aside from the fact that it was Nickelodeon’s first show to feature a primarily Black cast.
Despite a positive reception, the My Brother and Me was over before you could say, “Gooooo Punch!” Ralph Woolfolk IV, who played little brother Dee Dee, shared in an interview that a spat between the show’s creators and producers led to them calling it quits. The two sides couldn’t agree on a direction for season two, leaving everyone out of a job and audiences out of a series.
