4. Mr. Rogers and The Fish
For decades, Mister Rogers was the king of children’s television and made us all feel like we were his best friend. He invited us into his TV life and daily routines, teaching us invaluable life lessons with his soothing voice and natural, compassionate charisma. The kindness wasn’t an act. Mister Rogers wore his heart on his sleeve, and it showed on his show.

Our favorite neighbor once received a letter from a visually-impaired girl who wrote: “Dear Mister Rogers. Please say when you are feeding your fish because I worry about them. I can’t see if you are feeding them, so please say you are feeding them out loud.” Mister Rogers listened, and from then on, he always confirmed the fish were being fed.
