Audiences Are Told When to Clap
Contestants and audience members on “The Price is Right” need to have a lot of energy. The reason being that they have to clap almost the entire episode. The live studio audience has to keep clapping unless told to stop, which barely happens.
The point is to make it seem as if the audience is having the time of their lives. Therefore, they have to keep clapping to the music playing even during commercial breaks. It is well known that if you stop clapping, you probably won’t get picked to be a lucky contestant.
