Busy, busy, busy.
Whether you’re busy with school, work, family, or more; it seems as if it’s an impossible task to even think about taking care of yourself in the midst of it all.
But taking care of yourself is very important.
And it can help prevent things like chronic stress, health issues, or mental health struggles.
I know self care can be hard. But you can truly make time for it.
Today I’m going to give you some self care ideas and tips for all of you busy teens and adults out there.

Routines
Routines can help to create a calmness to your life, something you can rely on and you can integrate parts that are personally important into to create some relief from your busy schedule. Whether this is a morning, lunch, or night time routine; make sure it’s simple enough that you can always work it into your day but helpful to you.
Sleep
Sleep is super important to your mind and body. It helps to take care of yourself and to relieve the burden of your day. Make sure that you make time to get a good amount of sleep, no excuses. It’s easier to find excuses and stay up late than it is to just get the sleep you need, I know. But sleep will help a lot.
Have “You Time”
You need some personal time in your life. If you’re in school, take some time on weekends to yourself. If it’s work or family keeping you busy, talk with your surrounding people and schedule a day or a few for yourself. This means doing something you enjoy, spending time with loved ones, or anything that uplifts you.
Let Things Out
To relieve stress or worry, you need an outlet for what’s on your mind. That can be professional help such as a therapist, but if you can’t access that there are other options. You can express your inner thoughts through art, journal writing, music, or any other option that suits you best. What makes you feel calm and relieved?
Rewards
You may think that rewarding yourself seems silly or childish, but it really can help to make your day feel better. If you’ve done good in attendance, work, or anything else you can reward yourself for that.
It may be as simple as self-congratulations or a little treat that fits into your budget.
Maybe sweets or a new book.

Hopefully one or more of these options can help you with self care. Even if you’re not particularly busy, these can be great additions to self care for anyone of any age or lifestyle.
I hope that these can lead you to a better care routine. Take care of yourself, especially if you’re busy. It’s really important, trust me I know.
Best of luck!
