We’ve shown you example after example of students taking their test and homework instructions far too literally. This one, however, is the absolute best. The book told the student to write <or>, and that’s pretty much what they did. Bring on the final exam! This kid is ready!
But if you spent at least 10 minutes in math class, you probably know that this textbook is telling the student to use the symbols < and > to show which number is greater than which. Again, elementary students aren’t the brightest, but they’re eager to learn. Or they’re eager to finish their homework as soon as possible and play outside.
