29. Building of Doors
Choi Jeong-Hwa was an artist on a mission. He was a horrible painter, he couldn’t draw, but he loved art and walking. His mission in life? To become a normal person that thought like an artist. He started collecting doors and one day decided to create a symbolic art installation.
The result? The 1000 Doors Installation in Seoul, South Korea. Each door is different, and they’re all recycled. It was erected in 2009. Since then, he’s used recycled art to create Air Air, a double pyramid of giant straws, Life Life, a giant hodge-podge of a twisty balloon-looking mass, and Hubble Bubble, colanders strung together and painted green while hung from a ceiling.
