Identifying who burglarized your home
This person drew a clear line between two kinds of burglars: family and friends who know where to look, and burglars who are looking to get in and out as quickly as possible. In many cases, burglary victims can tell which of the two gave their home an unauthorized visit by identifying which items are missing.
The common burglar will look for things that sell quickly, such as power tools or electronics. They spend 15 minutes at most at the scene, snatching up whatever items they can carry before scurrying off into the night. That said, there’s no surefire way to determine whether a cousin took your impact driver or a common burglar took your safe hidden in your basement.
