Get a trusted housesitter
Ideally, you’ll want your home to be occupied at all times, even when you, the homeowner, aren’t there. Home securities are great and all, but there’s nothing that deters burglars more than human movement indoors. So, if you’re going to be gone for a couple of hours or days for a funeral or wedding, get a housesitter.
Make sure the housesitter is someone you can trust, like a good friend or a relative. Tell them what they need to do to keep your home looking lively during the day and night. Also, let them know why you’re asking them to keep your house safe. It’s only fair.
