Tattoos aren’t for everyone. Some of us have parents who are still old school and associate getting inked with living a dangerous or degenerate lifestyle. They also don’t like seeing their forever babies jab needles into their skin to desecrate the temple that is their body, so you can guarantee you’ll hear all about it when you anxiously reveal your first tattoo to them.
What you don’t expect to hear when showing off your new ink is that your dad has a criminal record and spent time in the slammer. It seems like vital information you’d know about your parents, but we can’t blame them when so many parents live by the phrase, “Do as I say, not as I do.”
