Not That Old
The United States may seem like a historical giant, but in reality, it’s a relatively young nation. Approximately 5.4% of U.S. citizens have been alive long enough to witness at least one-third of the country’s entire history since its founding in 1776. This statistic is a striking reminder of America’s youth compared to many other nations with centuries, if not millennia, of recorded history.
It goes to show the rapid pace of change, growth, and development that has characterized the country’s relatively short existence, from its colonial origins to becoming a global superpower in just a few centuries. It’s truly amazing to see how far we’ve come, when you think about it that way.
