Have One Errand Running Day
Try to have one day where you run errands, pay bills, and do whatever else needs to be done downtown. This allows you to have this one solid day of running around so that your kids are prepared to know that mommy will be busy this day, and perhaps they can ride along to make it a little fun.
Taking one day to do all of these tasks will help minimize the going back and forth on other days of the week. This one day will be your busy day of the week so that other days can be more mindful and relaxing.
Cooking Time-Consuming Meals
Another thing to stop right now to be a less busy mom is cooking too many time-consuming meals. This can easily be done by planning more meals that are prepped freezer meals, sheet pan meals, and other quick meals that still have homemade goodness in them.
There are plenty of meal planning tips online that help you shop for a week or more worth of quick and simple healthy meals. These meals can be prepared in one day to freeze and heat up during the week so that you can be a less busy mom.
Put the Phone Away
Try to leave your phone somewhere that’s not so accessible when you get home from work. You can keep it on the charger in another room, or perhaps just put it on silent somewhere away from where you can see the flashing notification light.
This will help you be more mindful as a mom and less busy because you’ll be less tempted to peek at your cell phone during family time. If you don’t have a house phone and need to keep the sound on to get important phone calls then shut off all notifications except phone calls so that you can be less busy and distracted during your time with the kids.
