The Ol’ Switcheroo
Salt and pepper are the staples of seasoning, earning them a permanent place on our tabletops and making them a necessity even in fast-food restaurants. We know that white is for salt and black is for pepper, making words on the packaging unnecessary unless it’s Backwards Day or you’re eating at the café that serves these confused condiment packages.
Redditor SirLCF wanted to sprinkle some salt on his eggs, so he went with what he knew and grabbed the white packet, only to be met with the horror of having dumped a bunch of pepper on his breakfast instead. The salt was in the black packet that he naturally would have assumed pepper.
