What makes a photo special? Well, there was a time every photo was special as photography was a complicated business. The cameras were very heavy and clunky to operate. Most people lived and died without having their photo taken even once. As you’ll see in this article, people even took pictures with dead relatives just to commemorate them for the final opportunity. We sure came a long way from that to Instagram stories where every single moment is captured to share instantly and we all carry powerful cameras in our pockets. So I guess it’s just being in the right place at the right time. Or one would argue about many of the pics here, maybe it’s being in the wrong place at the wrong time…
The Skull of a Megalodon
Did you also get incredibly scared while watching ‘Jaws’ as a teen, and then heard of an even bigger shark that lurks out there, somewhere? Well, the rumors are completely true. This huge shark is named Megalodon, and scientists have estimated his size to be somewhere around 59 ft long and 34ft wide. Its large jaw could exert a bite force of up to 40,000ibf.
Luckily for us, this shark is presumed extinct, so there is no fear of being devoured by its huge teeth on our next trip to the beach. The stories of the extinct Megalodon have inspired numerous legends, stories and even movies that have terrified us for the last 200 years.
