The Dead Mechanic
This group photo was taken in 1919. The soldiers you see are a part of Sir Victor Goddard’s Royal Air Force squadron. They first made history by fighting bravely for their country during the first world war, and then became famous again due to this startling photograph.

If you look closely, you could see a semi-translucent face behind the soldiers. That face belongs to Freddy Jackson, who was a mechanic that died in a terrible airplane accident two days earlier. When the soldiers saw this photograph, a chill went down their spine. They talked to Freddy Jackson’s family and discovered that that was the day Jackson was buried. Did their old friend come back to say goodbye one last time? It sure looks like it.
