Ghost of Lord Combermere
When young photographer Sybell Corbet took this photograph of an empty library in Combermere Abbey, he did not know of its future importance. After the photograph was processed, Corbet discovered a mysterious apparition, appearing to be sitting in the chair of the deceased Lord Combermere. Corbet showed the picture to an employee of the library who gasped loudly, and identified the apparition as the deceased Lord himself.

Through the years, the photographed became famous all over the world, accompanied by stories of British ghosts who returned to their old castles and country homes. Numerous similar photographs were faked with special tricks and gadgets, but Corbet swore that his photograph was genuine.
