Before the yearly tradition of a fun Halloween costume started somewhere in the 1980s, Halloween was a truly creepy holiday. The main idea behind the tradition of costumes is to scare away the demons that want to hunt you down at night, and the only way to do that was to scare them back.

This is the main reason why children usually had the most terrifying costumes. They were the most easy prey to the things that go hunt in the night. This little girl was given a cut human skull with bones from small animals and the jaw of a cow. If this doesn’t terrify people and demons alike, our situation is even worse than we could have imagined.
