Have you ever come home from a day of shopping, unpacked and detagged all of your sweet new clothes, and found that they included an extra baggie of buttons, threads, and a swatch of fabric that you’ll definitely lose in a drawer somewhere? It’s actually testing grounds for detergents and softeners so that you don’t have to find out the hard way by dunking your precious threads into a wash that could ruin them. If it was expensive enough to include a testing swatch, it’s probably something you don’t want to have to replace because you didn’t spot test before washing.
