Soccer Player Louisa Necib
Laure’s teammate, Louisa Necib, has a slightly more decorated career. She started playing soccer professionally in 2003 when France U17 picked her up. Louisa must’ve made an impression on legendary soccer player Zidane during the 2006 World Cup Qualifications as they exchanged jerseys. The strangest thing about her career is that it almost didn’t happen. She hadn’t heard about her university’s female soccer team until it was almost too late.
Her performances during the 2008-09 season in the UEFA Women’s Champions League earned her the Female Player of the Year Award. After the disappointing loss at the 2012 Olympics, she announced her retirement from competing. She retired after earning over $1.5 million in prize money.
